Thanks to many generous donors, we have a growing archive of artefacts which further our understanding of and connection to Strathearn’s heritage. Donations vary from large collections to single objects. We manage the environmental conditions for their safe preservation.

The Martin Boyle Collection
Martin Boyle donated a wealth of items to Crieff and Strathearn Museum which help to detail life in Scotland during the last century.
A long-time resident of Madderty, Martin was Head of Art at Morrisons Academy for many years. He never married and never threw anything out either! When Martin was unable to live independently, his cousin, Charlotte, took on the challenge of sorting through the accumulated items and Crieff & Strathearn Museum became a grateful beneficiary of clothing, personal, practical and household goods from times long past.
Martin sadly passed away before the museum opened but was happy to know his collection was going to be preserved and shown.
The two 19th century prints hanging on the wall were part of Martin’s legacy, and with Charlotte’s generous donation we were able to install special UV resistant glass over them to stop them from fading.
