Crieff Toon Clock
We look forward to welcoming you to Crieff and Strathearn Museum in the bustling holiday town of Crieff.
You will find us in the Old Town Hall on the High Street, known locally as the Toon Clock.
Delve into the past with the help of our friendly volunteers. Our small museum houses new exhibitions every year and fun activities to keep the children busy. You can also pick up a unique souvenir from our wee shop.
Entry is free but donations are most welcome.

The museum closes at the end of October. Then during November transforms into Santa’s Post Office which opens for youngsters looking for the safe and speedy postage of letters to Santa.
Elves are on hand to help you write your letters and sometimes Santa visits to read you stories!
The Town Hall was completed in 1850 and served as the courthouse and council offices. The original holding cells for the accused are to be found in the basement. Here you can also admire the Monuments of Crieff: the 9thC Burgh Cross, the mercat cross and the medieval stocks. The Ann McIntosh Room upstairs was once the council chamber and retains the original carved chairs. It now houses the Peter MacNaughton Collection of local history books and research materials.
Parking In Crieff, street parking is charged but the carparks are free (though you may need a ticket from the machine). The nearest disabled parking is at James Square.
Public Transport: Buses travel to Crieff from Perth, Stirling and Comrie. Stops along the way include Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Braco and Methven.
Refreshments: There are many excellent shops and cafes nearby.
Facilities: There is one accessible toilet in the museum.
Accessibility: Due to the listed status of the building, some areas are only accessible via stairs. However, we make every effort to ensure everyone has access to all exhibits and books. The ground floor is fully accessible.
Group Visits: Please let us know in advance if you are coming with a group of 10 or more.
Schools: We are currently working to develop fun, educational visits for primary school children.
Community Groups: The Ann McIntosh Room is available for use by community groups. Please contact us for information.
Crieff’s stocks were last used in 1822, although some people think they should still be in use!
Every November, the museum magically transfigures into Santa’s Post Office.
